So what better way would there be to wipe away the salty tears of die hard L Word fans after the end of the series in March than to make, wait for it….a spin off series!! Heck, it worked for Joey after Friends ended, so why not Alice? Obviously history has shown that the goofy sidekick can certainly hold up an entire show all on her own, and best of all, this one’s IN PRISON (flash back to Friends episode – the one where Chandler Bing uses Joey’s tailor)!
Of course this couldn’t be a bad idea. And what is the icing on the cake, you ask? This will be a web series. That’s right ladies, on the internets, as our former president would put so eloquently. Now no offense Leisha Hailey, but your character of Alice, she’s not that good. In fact, I can’t think of any character on television today that I would sit in front of my computer for 30 minutes to watch.
Want more details? There aren’t any. Basically all that Showtime and Illene have revealed is that Alice is going to prison after an open-ended series finale, obviously expecting us to infer that perhaps Alice killed Jenny or at least is taking the wrap for whoever did.
We, however, will not be fooled by Illene’s smoke and mirrors and have our own theory: Alice goes to jail at the end of the season after assaulting one of her idiot co-hosts on her View-like morning show when they applaud the passage of Prop 8. Ridiculous? Maybe, but when in Rome…
