We had great hopes for Showtime’s newest gay drama. Queer As Folk was a wonderful addition to the gay and lesbian community, and the announcement of a new show just for women who love women seemed like the perfect medicine to ease the pain of losing QAF.
Wrong. This show has been nothing but completely unrealistic and terrible for the past five seasons, but fear not, the end is near! As we bring this boring chapter of cable television to a close, we would like to spend the next several weeks celebrating the last episodes of the L Word. We welcome the end of crazy Jenny, saying farewell to Bette “Can’t Keep It In Her Pants” Porter and would gladly prefer not to hear about Shane’s newest hair style.
So here’s to the end, for all of us that have loved to hate this show all these years. For the remainder of the season, you can expect a weekly review of each episode, love them or hate them. Believe us, it’s only because we care. Lesbians deserve a better quality of representation than this.
I agree. I stopped watching the L Word a long time ago because I always wanted something more to come out of it. Hopefully the show will be a lesson learned and we can all look forward to more meaningful and engaging queer entertainment in the future.
Cheers,
~ Jenny
